The denotation of the use of the statue is showing that America is no longer a free country. This can be represented the use of the statue covering her face, as if the country is worried for its safety . The use of the black smoke can show how there is potential war due to the fact that president trump is now in power. As Trump is right wing and the newspaper is obviously left wing, we can see that the newspaper is not happy about the fact that Trump has been elected.
