Trumps extreme policies that drew criticism from both sides of the political spectrum, as he had  "A record of racist and sexist behaviour and a lack of political experience".

The daily mirror front page shows American iconography in the subverted image of the statue of liberty. This connotes despair. The use of dark clouds potentially foreshadows the future events of while Trump is in power. This positions the American population to blame for Trump's presidency. Ellipsis- foreshadowing. The use of Binary opposites in the front cover, "you" and "them" can represent the global impact of his presidency. therefore showing a particular significant ideology.

within the article and the front cover, there has been a highlight of immigration concerns and loss of jobs as a central to votesrs decisions to vote for Trump. This highlights the newspapers viewpoints.

Set text trump work

The denotation of the use of the statue is showing that America is no longer a free country. This can be represented the use of the statue covering her face, as if the country is worried for its safety . The use of the black smoke can show how there is potential war due to the fact that president trump is now in power. As Trump is right wing and the newspaper is obviously left wing, we can see that the newspaper is not happy about the fact that Trump has been elected. The use of 'What have they done?' can show how the newspaper believes that Trump will ruin America instead of 'make it great'. Hence showing how disastrous the newspaper believes Trump is as president of the United states.

The use of showing Donald Trump with his fist in he air can show that the newspaper 'the Times' is a neutral newspaper however in this article it appears that they are more right winged, this is because it looks as if they are happy that Trump was elected. As well as showing that he is powerful and dominant in comparison to the Vice president standing next to him who doesn't look very superior.  The use of the caption 'The New World' can show how they believe Trump being in power will benefit America hugely, and will keep to his tag line, 'Make America great Again.' the use of the american flag behind them can show how patriotic he is, therefore showing how much he cares for the country.

The image from the Daily Mail show Trump to be described as a 'earthquake'. This can represent that much like a earthquake will destruct and destroy most things within its path. The use of the picture of Trump standing in quite a strong pose can show how even though he is now president there are many that fear his presidency due to how he proposes to run The Unites States of America.

The image above shows the 'Daily News' front cover of when Donald Trump won the US election in 2016.  The use of the dramatic 'Trump is Hitler' can show that the newspaper evidently did not want Trump in the office. This can show how they believe that Trump would start a war due to him making racist remarks.

Examples of newspapers which are broadsheet are 'The Daily Telegraph', 'The Times', 'The independent', etc. Broadsheet newspapers tend to be a lot bigger in size in comparison to tabloid newspapers.
